We are seeking an experienced Work Health and Safety Advisor to join our HR team and play a key role in creating a safe, healthy and compliant work environment. This is a hands on, autonomous position where you will lead practical safety initiatives, provide expert guidance to leaders and employees, and ensure our WHS practices meet legislative requirements and industry best standards.

In this role, you will update and implement WHS policies, conduct and coordinate risk assessments, oversee incident and hazard management, and maintain accurate safety documentation. You will support leaders in embedding safe systems of work and actively promote a positive and proactive safety culture across the organisation. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead WHS governance and compliance across all jurisdictions, ensuring policies, documentation, licences and certifications remain current and effective.
  • Manage WHS and psychosocial risk, including proactive controls, incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Oversee emergency management and WHS operations, including first aid, wardens, evacuation procedures and WHS committees.
  • Drive psychosocial safety, developing frameworks, monitoring trends and supporting leaders to identify and manage emerging risks.
  • Manage workers compensation, reporting and audits, ensuring statutory compliance, quality data, strong provider relationships and audit readiness

What We’re Looking For:

  • Prior experience in a similar WHS position, with responsibility for both proactive and reactive safety activities.
  • Strong capability in conducting risk assessments, investigating incidents and hazards, performing root‑cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Experience coordinating workers compensation and return‑to‑work processes, including managing relationships with insurers, brokers and rehabilitation providers.
  • Highly organised approach to managing WHS systems, documentation, registers and compliance requirements, with the ability to balance legislative obligations with practical business‑focused solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interpret safety data, identify trends, influence leaders and drive positive safety behaviours.
