Credit Corp Inc.. Australia’s leading provider of responsible financial services in the credit-impaired consumer segment is currently looking for Senior and/or experienced Database Engineers to join our rapidly growing Company that spans across Australia, New Zealand, USA and Philippines.

The Database Engineer is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, enhancements, updates, and support of database systems and delivers a reliable, efficient, and effective outcome for the business.

Some responsibilities & duties include but not limited to:

• Administering, updating, rebuilding, maintaining, and optimising Microsoft SQL servers. 
• Trouble-shooting database services end to end including all application dependencies. 
• Monitor database performance and optimize system resources
• Implement and maintain database security adhering to best practise and business rules
• Maintain documentation of SQL Server deployment, license consumption and configuration
• Comply with all policies and procedures dealing with Systems and enhancements
• Disciplined adherence to change management policies and Project/Software development framework
• Maintain a risk and issue register for projects and bugs requiring fixes
• Develop, implement and monitor SQL backup processes 
• Participate in implementing policies, procedures and appropriate technologies to achieve agreed availability and performance service levels
• Regularly review system efficiencies in order to pre-empt potential outages
• Ensure systems are maintained and comply with the Data Security Policy
• Level 3 and 4 escalation Support for Service Desk
• Managing the 24x7 support for all production systems
• Raise and Manage open issues and priorities with each external Vendor/Partner

What we are looking for?

• IT Degree holder or Relevant certification and on-the-job experience
• Willing to participate in shifting schedules to cater for US and Australian time zones
• Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration including SSRS, SSIS
• Windows Server Failover clustering
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Availability Groups
• Proficiency in SQL Server management and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Familiarity with SQL Server security best practices.
• Knowledge of T-SQL and scripting for automation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to produce quality and timely results.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop the role by drawing on their previous experience while completing the essential duties
• Experience with other database systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, Ingres) is a plus
